I have a LOT of books on my to-read list right now. But it’s been a rough few weeks for me and I needed a quick read with some good laughs. What better than a Stephanie Plum novel?
This is probably my favorite of the series so far. It was the funniest, and finally – FINALLY – Stephanie and Morelli hook up. The only thing that I didn’t like about it was that Grandma Mazur didn’t shoot anyone. It’s becoming a little bit schticky that Stephanie’s main bounty and Morelli’s main case always end up being connected (whoops – spoiler alert), so it will be interested to see how Evanovich keeps that going for the next fourteen books.
Evanovich wrote these in the 90’s, and so Stephanie’s fashion sense is a little suspect. She wears flourescent biker shorts with a sweatshirt thrown over it. I guess it is Jersey, but still … yikes! I wonder what a modern-day Stephanie’s fashion choices would look like … for instance, a nice pair of jeggings or one of those tank tops with the beads and fringe.
After I knock off a few more of my upcoming must-reads, I’ll continue with the fifth book. I’ve got five and six on loan from a friend so I feel compelled to read them sooner rather than later, but hey, A Feast for Crows isn’t going to read itself.
