Catch-Up Review: Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas

mindhunterThis is gonna be a rough one because I watched the Netflix series first (Cameron Britton was OUTSTANDING as Ed Kemper) and then tried to read this book for my true crime book club. The information felt repetitive to me, probably because I had seen it on the show.

If you’re a true crime junkie, then learning how the FBI started to study and classify serial killers will be right up your alley. I found Douglas’ writing to be a little dry. I much preferred the Netflix show, even if it was a little bit embellished for the sake of drama. I actually never finished the book, if I’m being honest. Maybe I’ll come back to it someday. I’ll throw it back on the shelf, and time will tell.
