Because I’ve had a lull between reviews (don’t you just love the word LULL?), I thought I’d let you know what I’m reading, because it’s kind of weird that I chose to read these two books at the same time.
First, I’ve finally decided to dive in to 11/22/63 by Stephen King. It is as good as I’d hoped, and each night, I’ve been staying up WAY too late reading it, unable to put it down despite my very tired eyes barely staying open. If you aren’t familiar with the premise, a man goes back in time to try and stop the Kennedy assassination. And with true Stephen King fashion, there’s lots of weirdness and cool references to some of his other famous works, including “IT” which remains my favorite King novel and the reason I am scared to death of clowns.
I also picked one from the pile my mom gave me. I typically read the ones I think I’ll like the least, and save the better ones for last. The odd man out, so to speak, was Killing Lincoln by Bill O’Reilly. Obviously this deals with the assassination of President Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth.
Lincoln? And Kennedy? REALLY???
These two Presidents are often compared, and often discussed together as they were both assassinated while in office. There’s even a whole set of supposed coincidences that Snopes has refuted, for the most part, but are still interesting reads.
I still have about 400 pages left on 11/22/63, and am about halfway done with Lincoln. Look for reviews coming soon!
